RegioTriRhena

Refers to the French-German-Swiss triangle between the Voges to the west, the Black Forest to the east and the Jura to the south.

RegioTriRhena (sometimes only: Regio), is a tri-national co-operation of cities, municipalities, transport and economic organisations, universities, cultural institutions as well as other associations in the area of Colmar, Freiburg, Mulhouse and Basel. The area is about 8.680 km², with around 2 million inhabitants and is in the centre of Europe. The region has also a shared ownership of the Euro Airport better known as Bale Airport. Although the area is now made up by three different countries it is has much in common. Most of its Inhabitants are descendants of the west German tribe of the Alamanni and in the region various forms of Alemanic German (Alemannisch) are spoken. The region is culturally diverse and the Alsace, Jura and the Black Forest are much favoured tourist regions.
