Regina Milbourne
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Regina Milbourne is a pseudonym of Gina Marie Marks, author of Miami Psychic: Confessions of a Confidante, a memoir published by the Regan Books division of HarperCollins in 2006. The book's co-author is listed as Yvonne Carey.
The volume purports to recount the experiences of the author as she used her alleged psychic gifts on behalf of clients who included, in the words of the publisher's promotional material, "Murderers, thieves, crooked cops, pedophiles, cheating spouses, and Russian drug dealers," who sought the assistance of this "Part gypsy priestess and part psychologist." [1].
Florida's Broward-Palm Beach New Times has claimed that, as in the cases of works James Frey and Nasdijj, Miami Psychic is a "memoir" that is less autobiography than fiction. [2] The article states that Milbourne is in fact Marks. According to the report, "Marks belongs to the Uwanawich tribe of Gypsies," which is "a notorious Gypsy criminal family." It add that she "has personally been involved in well-documented fortunetelling scams" and goes on to call her "an interstate predator."
Her alleged frauds include telling fortunetelling clients that money in their possession is tainted in some way and can only be "cleansed" by means of rituals she will supposedly carry out on it.
