[edit] Song lyrics/artist/title- 40 years ago
I know some lyrics to a song from the 1960's or 1970's. The range (notes/octaves) is limited, even for Rock. Sounds like early Bob Dylan or Rolling Stones, or (skip a few years) early Yardbird. The song starts; "I've been lookin at the sun, pardon me, I didn't know it can't be done. I've been lookin at the sun, I've been lookin at the sun. So my world is made of paint, pardon me, I didn't know that you're a saint. So my world is made of paint, so my world is made of paint. (Chorus) I'm not listenin to the fools who are makin all the rules. I'm just havin too much fun. Doin what I wanna. Hit and run. Hit and run." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ccascade1 (talk • contribs) 00:27, 10 March 2007 (UTC).
- "Hit and Run" by The Kingston Trio. ObtuseAngle 02:19, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non-Bengali Indians Singers
I heard that six non-Bengali Indian singers actually sang Bengali. They are Jagjit Singh, Pankaj Udhas, Anup Jalota, Mehedi Hasan, Ghulam Ali and, believe it or not, Mohammed Rafi. Where can I get their Bengali songs? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.64.133.56 (talk) 00:30, 10 March 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Violin songs?
I would like to find various violin songs such as : fur elise , harry potter theme song , star wars darth vader song , barney song , nutcracker song , simpsons theme song —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.102.217.142 (talk) 19:01, 10 March 2007 (UTC).
- Most of the compositions you listed weren't originally composed as violin solos. If you're looking for sheet music of violin arrangements of these themes (usually with piano accompaniment), I suggest googling "violin" + "arrangement" and the title of the composition you're looking for. (example for Für Elise). ---Sluzzelin talk 19:12, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Another way of getting violin music, particularly things which might be copyright, is to go to a good music shop (as in, the sort that sells sheet music, books of music, etc) then either have a look at what violin music they have, or ask the people behind the desk for specific pieces, or specific sorts of things. I find they're usually quite helpful. Skittle 20:04, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mickey Mantle
What number did Mickey Mantle orginally wear as a Yankee before it was switched to 7? Also, what was the reason for the switch and when did it occur? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.84.238.204 (talk) 20:29, 10 March 2007 (UTC).
- Our article on Mickey Mantle might contain this information, infact, it does:
"He had briefly worn uniform number 6, as a continuation of Babe Ruth's 3, Lou Gehrig's 4, and Joe DiMaggio's 5, in 1951, but his poor performance led to his temporary demotion to a minor league in mid-season. When he returned, Bobby Brown, who had worn number 6 before Mantle, had reclaimed it, so Mantle was given number 7."

- Thanks for getting to the core of that Mantle issue. StuRat 19:39, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Rhetorical question
Wow! No entertaining questions on the 9th? Clarityfiend 21:13, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Not a very entertaining day, I guess. --Wirbelwindヴィルヴェルヴィント (talk) 21:26, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
