[edit] What movie is this from?

There's a movie which contains these lines: " I'll bet you twenty dollars I can kiss you without touching your lips" They kiss. " Best twenty dollars I ever spent"

I would like to know what movie this was and if possible what scene/how far in. Thanks. 63.135.8.94 01:29, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

A Google search gave me Derailed. — Kieff 01:35, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] News archives for films

I've generally edited for upcoming films, but I'd like to branch out into films that have been out for a while. I've used IGN, ComingSoon.net, SuperHeroHype.com for film articles on which I work now, but when it comes to older films, such as Schindler's List, there is less information present online. I have access to Access World News through my college account, but I was wondering if there were any archives out there that solely covered films, or at least point me in the direction of print reliable sources. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 04:47, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

On imdb, there's a menu on the left side of the page for every film. The category Awards and Reviews has links to external reviews and to newsgroup reviews. The page on Schindler's List, for example, links to lists of external reviews and newsgroup reviews of that particular movie. ---Sluzzelin 13:28, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Robert Webb

hello,

I know that the British sitcom actor Robert Webb grew up in Woodhall Spa in lincolnshire, England but i was wondering how i would go about finding out which house or area he lived in? (Woodhall Spa is a pretty small village, especially back then). Does any one know?

thanks, --Killer 777 17:17, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

  • You could try contacting the local city hall or church if they have either, but seeing as relatives might still live in the house, they might not be inclined to release the info to you as it is violation of the webb family's privacy. - Mgm|(talk) 10:49, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Not sure if it's the same in the UK as it is here in NZ, but here, libraries often keep old electoral rolls or old local phone books. Search for his parents in Woodhall Spa in 1980s electoral rolls or phone books. Grutness...wha? 00:55, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

I'd try contacting the Lincolnshire Archives [[1]], if they don't have the electoral rolls for the period, they'll probably be able to advise you on the best place to look. Mighty Antar 01:18, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kimera and the Operaiders

Hallo,

I am looking for info regarding the Korean Soprano, Kimera and the Operaiders, who sang in the 80's or 90's. Who is she? Where did she come from? What happened to her? When was she born?

Please help if you can. It would be much appreciated.

Martin du Plessis Bournemouth United Kingdom.

Hello Martin, this is from the French Wikipedia's page on Kimera: Kimera seems to be a descendant from the royal Silla dynasty and was born on January 10, 1958 in Daegu (South Korea). She performed as a solist on Korean television from the age of twelve. In the late 1970s she went to Paris to study literature and classical singing. Her ability to effortlessly tackle parts ranging from contralto to lyrical coloratura soprano was noticed among Parisian jurors when she received a unanimous vote for the Diplôme Supérieur d'Art Lyrique in 1984.
That same year, she married Raymond Nakachian, a rich industralist, and eventually settled in a luxurious estate, the Villa Mélodie, in Marbella (Spain). Her career took another leap that year when she founded Kimera and the Opéraiders and recorded her first album with the London Symphony Orchestra - it's title was The Lost Opera (English Wikipedia has an article on it) and it sold 2.5 million copies. The music and performances consisted of famous arias accompanied by drums, electronic instruments, dancers, light-shows, and fireworks.
In 1987, the car driving Kimera's oldest child Mélodie to school was ambushed, and the girl was kidnapped. Her ransom was set at thirteen million US Dollars. The parents weren't able to raise this amount of cash in due time, but one of the kidnappers carelessly lost his wallet while jogging, which eventually led to the perpetrators' arrest and Mélodie's liberation. This eleven-day drama seems to have been a huge media event in "Europe" (though I can't recall it).
Kimera continued to work into the 1990s, performing Ravel's Boléro at the Bolshoi Ballet in 1991, for instance, but her performances and recordings became rarer and rarer since the kidnapping and stopped altogether around 1994. Her style has been criticized and called a 'vulgarisation of classical music' by purists; on that note she has been compared to Richard Clayderman and the Rondo Veneziano. Kiméra appears to be known mainly in South Korea and Europe (particularly Spain). Audio or video-recordings of her work seem to be rare and finding them is difficult.
Again, this is all from the French Wikipedia and I haven't checked, let alone double-checked, any of it. ---Sluzzelin 12:33, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
OMG... I'm Korean, and I always thought she was French. :S (To be truthful, I've only seen her on TV once or twice when I was very young.) --Kjoonlee 15:41, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] main theme

What is the main theme in the movie "Maman Last Call"?

Are you asking about the music or the plot? If it doesn't need to be cited, you might get some insight from its page on IMDb. Anchoress 23:03, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
I'm talking about the plot and what is the main theme of this movie?
OK, so did you read the IMDb link? And please sign your posts with ~~~~ so we know who you are and when you posted. Anchoress 22:50, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
I did read the IMDB link but, it didn't help me about the main theme in Maman Last Call. Please1 help me! I just watch two days ago and I still don't even get what is the main theme? don mustafa
Well I haven't seen the film, but I got an impression of the the main theme from reading the IMDb entry, but if you have seen it and the IMDb page didn't suggest the main theme to you, then maybe my impression was wrong. Hopefully, someone who knows more about the topic will be able to help you. And PLEASE sign your posts. Please and thank you. Anchoress 23:12, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Song in Donnie Darko?

What's the name of the song in Donnie Darko with the school? It's like a slow motion pan through a hall and the courtyard. The chorus starts with something like "something happened and I'm head over heels."

Can anyone help me out? Thanks

At the beginning of Donnie Darko? V-Man737 01:52, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
It's probably Head Over Heels by Tears for Fears, which is listed in the SOUNDTRACK LISTING. Anchoress 01:57, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
I can confirm that it is. --Grace 22:55, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
