[edit] The new (unattributed) additions

The two new sections have serious NPOV issues. This article needed work anyway, but that new stuff just made matters worse. A revert is coming soon if that new stuff isn't cleaned up.BSMet94 02:48, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

OK, you had your chance. Some anonymous person ruined a perfectly decent start on a section about lead refining, by bringing in a bunch of nonsense about DIY metal recycling. Recovery of metals from e-waste is first and foremost recycling, and may or may not involve refining. Plus the tone of the text (like a personal lecture) is not by any means encyclopedic. Plus e-waste recycling is usually after gold and copper, not lead. Then this person brings in all kinds of other extraneous stuff about lead in paint, EDTA, etc. which have nothing whatsoever to do with refining. Valid concerns they may be, but nothing to do with refining! Again, this article needs cleaning up and expansion into other metal refining processes. Hopefully someone can add some better info to it. I'll help eventually. BSMet94 04:58, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Well-done! What you removed was essentially vandalism. Some of the stuff looked more like applied chemistry than metallurgy. Peterkingiron 12:07, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
