Hi there! I was wondering how/with which software do you make those cool userpage decorations? Cheers! --May the Force be with you! Shreshth91 06:21, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] :)

Actually I considered deleting it a week ago when I noticed it hadn't been properly certified, but then I got distracted by work again. I'm hoping I can actually have time to do more than 1 revert a day sometime soon. :/ Syrthiss 12:09, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Link deletion

Hi, Redvers I recently added two links to BBC and TV Licence but, if I read things right, you have deleted them. I have read up on the guidelines, and can see why you deleted it from the BBC page, since the site did not match the criteria for 'external links'. However, I don't see why you have deleted the link from the TV Licence page. My site was in the personal section and was not advertising or in poor taste. It was entirely relevant to the TV Licence. I would be grateful if you would reconsider this. Le79su 00:49, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome Image

Hey Redvers, long time no see, eh? Just wanted to say thanks for designing a Welcome Image for DarknessLord and to drop on by and see how things are going. Drop me a line sometime, okay? --Ali K 12:13, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Get better soon, okay? Good to hear that you are still positive though. Oh, and btw, trying to be quiet about the whole thing, but someone we both know has crossed a certain line ;). I hope you follow, even if just a tad (and no, it isn't DH :P ). Thanks for asking about me, and I am absolutely fantastic :) --Ali K 08:41, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reverting

Hi CMacMillan

You revert a good faith entry to a discussion here using popups.

Why? ЯEDVERS 08:40, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Good question. Sorry about that, I'm not sure how that happened, but I certainly didn't mean to revert an entry like that. I only use popups for vandalism, but I was following that discussion closely and I must have clicked RV. Again, sorry. CMacMillan 13:50, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blanking

Please don't blank pages, even if one does require deletion. Instead, slow down and visit WP:CSD. Select a template that applies (they don't stretch) and apply it to the page. Blanking to achieve deletion can lead to accidental accusations of vandalism that then cannot be removed from your talk page. And we don't want that. ЯEDVERS 20:35, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Kind of like this? *grin* Thanks for the info, but I was trying to resurrect a page that used to exist, created a #REDIRECT then realized that the target no longer existed either. I blanked my own edit, and posted a request for help on the Administrator's Notice Board. CMacMillan 20:39, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Non-admins declining RfU's

Hey, I agree with that recent decline. Abou your point, although technically correct, it is generally accepted that only admins decline RfU's, or editors in good standing can decline obvious RfU's. [1] Eventually, most of IRC agreed that normal users in good standing can decline RfU's where {{Autoblock}} and {{User:Daniel.Bryant/ABX}} are applicable, but any judgement call has to be left up to the admins. Maybe this interpretation was wrong, but that's what I seem to understand of it - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant T · C ] 21:05, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tim Montgomerie

Hi. I want to nominate this page for deletion but cannot as I do not have a username. The reason is that the person is just a blogger and is not notable enough. If you look at the article all the sources about him are on his or his friends blogs. Can you help me with the process. Thank you very much for your time. --82.35.73.41 23:29, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ted87

Hmm, I was counting these four:

The first of these counts as a revert of [6]. That makes four reverts in 24 hours. I was just trying to apply the directive to treat all sides equally even though User:Ted87 was the one reporting the violation. Do you mind if I re-block? (I don't believe in wheel wars either!) I think it's important to apply the rules equally. --Ginkgo100 talk · e@ 22:14, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Why have i been blocked?

I understand from what i have seen that u have blocked me from editing certain pages of Wikipedia. For the record i do not understand why i have been blocked and what's the reason? I haven been contributing much in teh article and have u make a mistake in blocking me? I also noticed someone has been assuming my identity and using the same account name to sabotage me... Is there any way u can resolve this issues... I think this is a job of some practical joker who hacked into my account and using my nick to sabotage me, please rectify this situation as soon as possible ok? I have my own page and i need to edit some stuff on my own personal page and i cant do that till u unblock mne, thanks for your attenttion and i certainly hope u can trace the joker who did this... have a good day.

[edit] User inquiries

I've been wondering, and since you're an administrator i thought i might ask you, what's an easy way to check how many edits a user has and how long their account has existed? Thanks, -- Robert See Hear Speak 00:41, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi Robert!
I'm probably the editor on Wikipedia who cares least about edit counts (they just don't measure anything useful IMHO) but I think most people use Interiot's wannabe Kate's tool for general edit counts.
As for when an account was created, for users created after (I think) December 2004, if you go to their logs (User page > User contributions link > Logs) there's a log for "User creation". More useful, perhaps, is first edit date - to find this, go to the contribs and click "oldest". At the bottom of the list is the first edit they made.
Hope this helps! ЯEDVERS 19:57, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, that's what i was looking for. -- Robert See Hear Speak 21:11, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] And why even comment?

FFS, Redvers, who ever said verifiability was a keep reason? It's people like you adding random unhelpful comments that keep DRV and AfD discussions going on and on, like in the present case. You should not be surprised to receive a good bashing for that, seeing how inflamed the DRV discussion has been, and how utterly unnecessary the AfD is. I especially object to the fact that you did not apparently even read the DRV discussion before commenting. - Samsara (talk  contribs) 23:04, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Redvers, you know I love you and I understand why you were ranting, but I have to agree that the comment wasn't helpful considering the five continuous days of bashing about verifiability the user above just endured. Anyway, I hope this will be the end of it. Cheers. pschemp | talk 23:28, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Associated-Rediffusion

You are kind of right, it doesn't belong there since its talking about the UK Rediffusion. There is a need for an article for O-R (Overseas-Redifussion? Correct?), as they are very different entities. You can try going to the bigger libraries and use microfilms to find sources for O-R. I believe my local library has microfilm newspaper articles on O-R, and they are still a radio station in Singapore, but much smaller. We shall see then. After you pointed out to me, I think the SGpedians' Resources template on the talk page should be removed. --Terence Ong 04:19, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
