[edit] Welcome

Hello, Redina. I'm familiar with you from Croworld. I'm grateful to have an intellegent person like you here to help edit Croatian articles. Let me inform you of our situation.

  • Croat users are out vastly outnumbered by Serb editors. It means that they can simply overwhelm us when it comes to any contentious issue. It has also allowed them to keep fishy articles such as Serbophobia from getting deleted. Worst of all, there is a sort of victimization that many Serbs on Wikipedia feel, which they think entitles them to change any articles that "subscribe to Serbophobia". Try to avoid these people. There certainly does exist a rather compact group of Neutral Point of View Serbians on Wikipedia. These people will work to make compromises.
  • Your contributions will get mutilated and vandalized. Luckily there is a small group of us that works to fight vandalism. Still, there are many people who would rather contribute with their heart rather than their head on here, if you know what I mean.
  • Wikipedia is hardly an ideal, scientific encyclopedia. Just try to do your best to improve some of the articles, and don't get offended if a random user starts making claims that you're a nationalist. Of all people, I know you're not. :-D --Thewanderer 21:41, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
