Well, hello there!
Glad you could pop by. I'm Redvers, one of a growing band of people helping make the internet that little bit better by building a free, collaborative encyclopedia that anyone can edit.
I'm interested in British television and radio, the Great War, World War Two and contemporary history in the post-war period. My Wikipedia time contains lots of "just" reading the content (there are over a million pages here, all fascinating), much contributing and tons of tiding up and anti-vandalism... both something of a sad hobby in and of themselves. On 22 March 2006, 105 people decided to give me the keys to the janitor's cupboard and I am now an administrator here.
I'm a Welshman who is to be found dividing my time between North Yorkshire, Merseyside and the beautiful Ieper in Belgium.
I'm also a practicing homosexual - after all, practice makes perfect! I'm hoping one day to win an award for my contributions and dedicated practical research in this particular area.

Redvers is awarded this barnstar for his devoting to helping clearing the deletion backlogs (as well as responding to the disgruntled authors) which are ignored by so many administrators. Your commitment to staying true to your words and honouring your "election promises" is very much appreciated in this political age. Thankyou, Blnguyen | BLabberiNg 08:54, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
I award Redvers this barnstar for providing a page that vandals like to vandalize, ensuring a constant flow of anti-vandalism barnstars to me for reverting it. Keep up the good work! Syrthiss 12:04, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Major rewrite
Clean-ups and major expansions
The good, the bad and the ugly can benefit from a clean-up. These are a small selection of the articles I've cleaned-up, expanded or generally turned around: most of them originally found by clicking the Random article option. Anything I can't clean up goes off to AfD - if an article is so bad it can't be cleaned and the references are so poor it can't be re-researched, then why is it here in the first place?

Administrators worry - a lot - about undoing each other's actions. It's known as wheel warring and it drives someone crazy.
For the record: it doesn't bother me. Well, it does when people do it to each other. I mean, it doesn't bother me if other admins wish to undo me. I'm not perfect, have never claimed to be and can't see a Wikipedia rule requiring it!
- Disagree with the delete I just did? Undelete it.
- Disagree with the block I just did? Unblock.
- Disagree with the protection I just did? Unprotect.
It's not wheel-warring, it's just common sense. Feel free to drop me a line (not to explain, just to tell me you've done it) but only if you want to.
The only time I think I'd get peeved is if I was closing an AfD or the like and you didn't agree with my decision and undid it. But even then, I'd likely turn up and talk to you about it rather than stamping my foot or undoing you.
