Hi, I haven't done much on wikipedia other than minor edits and creating an article on the Twenty Year Rule, so if you have any problems with me changing a spelling error, write something on my talk page. Other than that, you might find me writing stuff in the future in articles about German, phonology, and other things I find interesting.
Languages and Grammar
I am quite fascinated by languages and phonology and can be occupied for hours looking at the consonant and vowel tables on wikipedia. My native language is American English, particularly Pacific Northwest English. That means 'cot' and 'caught' sound the same to me (which really does suck when learning other languages that do distinguish these sounds), I say 'rayng' (IPA: reŋ), instead of rang (ræŋ), and I pretty much sound like the people on TV. The normal ones without accents (Just kidding; No one is normal.)
I've tried learning many languages, beginning with Latin when I was 10 (quickly gave that up), followed by French (oui, c'est true, but once again, quickly gave that up), then Welsh (all I know now is 'Rwyt ti'n afal!' which means 'You are an apple!' and a bunch of useless verb conjugations). Then I chose German around two years ago (looked easy at the time), which I'm currently studying, and I have a pretty good grip on it. (Ich kann viel auf Deutsch sagen. Ja, das stimmt!) The only reason I probably didn't back out of learning German is because I had bought tons of books on German, and now I've come to love the language.
As far as grammar goes, I very much despise linguistical purists. They annoy me. They are the ones that ruined 'ain't', a word that I do not use, but would like to have used if they hadn't have associated it with people with very little teeth that don't take showers. They force me to say 'aren't I?' at the end of a sentence, which is actually grammatically incorrect or 'am I not?', which makes me sound like a grammatical purist.
Likes
I like a lot of things. But in particular, three. Orange is now my favorite color. It used to be purple, then blue, then green, then yellow, and now its orange. Wir Sind Helden is totally AWESOME! I came across them while looking for German music. I don't know why they aren't extrememly popular in America. And who doesn't like muffins? Maybe opium addicts who get tested regularly don't like poppy seed muffins, but other than that, who?
About Me
I'm not going to say too much about myself. I'm very afraid that people might track me down and beat me with sticks. I am a member of Generation Y, along with 70 other million people. I think Generation Y in general is too material focused, but more open minded than other generations. Um, I live in Washington state, so I guess that means that I wear flannel, am constantly sad because of our eternally cloudy skies, love grunge music, eat lots of trout, cut down trees for fun, and as a pastime, I watch volcanoes erupt. In reality, flannel is cool (don't wear it much), global warming seems to be taking care of the clouds, Nirvana is pretty good but I listen to a lot of happy music, there's not too many trout left to catch, and stacking wood and moving branches isn't fun. But volcanic eruptions are always fun to watch.

If I Offended Anybody
There is no normal accent, plus most other accents sound cool. I was just trying to be funny. So sorry if I insulted you. And if you have few teeth and stink: I are sorry. You doesn't smell bad.
