[edit] Summary size
The last few episode descriptions really need to be trimmed down! I might do it myself, if nobody objects. -LtNOWIS 03:46, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I'd just like to say that, since some episodes are longer than others (5 minutes vs. 15 minutes), it's natural that the length of the descriptions can vary. The whole "time paradox" plot arc was like that. BUT, I agree that one or two episodes (49 in particular) seem a bit too wordy.
-
- However, looking at the history, it seems that someone has already taken it upon themselves to condense the episode descriptions considerably. I'd say they're fine the way they are now.
-
-
- I've been doing it. To whoever adds the initial descriptions that I end up paring down: please, control yourself. As your editor, I truly appreciate the amount of detail you put in, but you often go overboard, and I think that's part of why we're being considered for deletion. Sometimes less is more. [edit] Deletion
This page, as well as the two other "seasons" are fancruft par excellance. This is completely unencyclopedic and it's only existence on Wikipedia should be in the form of a link to a fan-page. --TheGrza 06:42, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)
- Object If this is unencyclopedic, then so is about half the stuff on this website. bob rulz 22:12, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)
- Object Since this is the largest general encyclopedia ever, i'm of the opinion that what constitutes "useful encyclopedia material" is always expanding. Besides, if people want to contribute to this, why not let them? There are plenty of other really important articles that people pay no attention too, like the list of world volcanos, and even the list of nuclear power plants in the USA. Also, while a machima web series, Red vs Blue could easily fall under the "Tv Series" debate that happened with IMDB, where it was fairly well established that individual episode articles should not be included, but descriptions could be aggregated into episode guides.
First of all, this debate is going on here, secondly, the votes are to Keep or Delete, and thirdly, this is no episode list. A list of episodes would link to the individual episode articles and not give descriptions, making it encyclopedic. An episode guide is fancruft. --TheGrza 17:16, Apr 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Maybe I'm unclear on the point, but wouldn't individual episode articles be worse in terms of wasting time and space? Plus, as far as I can tell, a) this information is not widely distributed elsewhere, and b) where it exists elsewhere, it's not available for public correction and editing.
-
- besides, what is "fancruft"? By some standards, any information other than a cursory story synopsis (of the type you can get off IMDB.com) is fancruft. Information such as who Church is or why everyone's living in the future might not be "essential" to someone who doesn't watch the show, but it can still be useful to many people. Remember, we're talking about 4 pages here. Less than 70,000 bytes in total. If it's not a copy vio or poorly written (which, overall, it's not), it seems there's no compelling reason to wipe this information off the face off the Earth, and at least some good reasons to keep it here for availability to others.

[edit] Epsiode 45.9
Should this be included, being sponsor-only?--Drat (Talk) 09:32, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- In terms of copyright issues, I don't think that it's any different from outlining the plot of a commercial movie. As I just brought up in the peer review, I think that, if we create an episode guide for the one-off non-main-storyline episodes, 28.5 and 45.9 should probably go there. -- TKD 10:02, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
