Uh, Irish? I've heard him speak. I'm familiar with the Irish accent. There is no way that Shanks has an Irish accent. Cockney, yes. Irish? No. Can someone shed some light on this? Right, I changed it to Cockney, and now someone's changed it to Aussie. It's not. I know the cockney accent very well, and that's what he has. A cockney accent. If no one puts up any proof to the contrary within the next 24 hours, I'm changing it back. Sergeant Snopake 10:25, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
The voice is not Aussie... I'm going by memory, but Cockney sounds pretty close... The changed has only been done within a few hours, because I added something earlier about what Shanks is doing right now and it wasn't there. 23:10 11/5/06

Someone changed his trivia to say he has a heavy Austrailian accent... If he speaks with a Cockney accent (which we have now all confirmed), how he have a Aussyland accent? I changed it back. Angel Emfrbl
It is a Aussyland accent! I borrowed the game off of someone yesturday played it and can confirm it is a Austrilian accent! It can't be cockney, not with that way of pronoucing words. Mystery solved! Angel Emfrbl 07:51, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Final conclusion: If you think its Mockney, listen to the voice of 'Mad Mod' from that animation 'Teen Titains'. He uses a Mockney accent (annoying because no one using Cockney ever speaks like him). Angel Emfrbl 18:09, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I think the main reason for everyone's confusion is the lack of accuracy with the VA's accent mimick. Often his pronouication of words and use of words is more Aussyland then cockney which is why I keep labelling it as Aussyland... My own accent is Cockney so I keep comparing the way he says words with how I and those around me say them. But please... Don't ever write the word 'mockney' on the page.
Actually, it maybe Irish because of the red-hair, which is shown as a Irish-stereotype. RedEyesMetal 21:12, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

White beard knows Shanks (read previous pages via link)and he calls him here a runny nose kid more or less. Shanks gives a small hint as to WHY he is being watched here too. Intereasting stuff.

Also... No info on once being friends with a certain Buggy the clown... I think this needs sorting. Its worth having info on Shank's youth here.



No, Whitebeard doesn't call Shanks a little kid with a runny nose. Whitebeard is refering to Rockstar, the messenger. He is Shanks' newest recruit, and even Benn call him "Chibi". So, Whitebeard wants to talk to Shanks in person, not one of his youngest recruits.

I'm not very familiar with the manga version of One Piece, so what I've typed in and revised only deals with anime.

Could someone who has read the One Piece manga possibly fill in the areas where the manga and anime differ?

Of Shanks as a trainee pirate with or without Buggy? I think it would be best if we had pictures of shanks as a trainee, his time at Luffy's hometown and him in present day.

Layout change made. The page was just one huge lump of solid text with no breaks in its context. Hopfully its easier to nagivate more user friendly. If anyone doesn't like it, they can change it to how they think it should be.

It says 'in the game' in his Trivia section... Which game? There has been several one Piece Games. It needs to be clearly stated, even if its more then one game.

What the hell? Listen, I'm not doubting the French verison, but we can ONLY go by the orginal Japanese verison as proof of a relationship or anything like that and nothing else. If that is Shanks' name in the French verison, who cares, its not known if this is his real name in the Japanese verison and you can't use it to prove any relationships at all. That ref was put back again... I checked out the name Roux D. Shanks on google and got nothing. Is this really his French name? If so its odd... Its a combo of Lucky Roux's name and Shanks which is wrong anyway. I think, that shouldn't be here until someone puts forward a source info with his name spelt that way. Thank you. I had actually found out it was 'le' instead of 'd' from another fan source, but I didn't have a picture to show for it. Though the picture is pretty useless as proof, since its in in the form of a fake wanted poster. But still, reguardless It's up here as some form of proof, anyway if its not english nor the orginal Japanese we still can't include what his name is in another language. Can't put it back into the page in other words. If we did it for one language, we'd have to do it for all (fancey writing 25+ verisons of Shanks' name anyone lol). Okay, I've done all the Shanks reference from the Manga, Anime and SBS section. I already knew most of these by heart so did them myself. The other One Piece pages need help sorting out stuff, but at least for now, we have at least one page fully sourced...
