Redheads (matches)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Redheads is an iconic Australian brand of matches originally manufactured in Richmond, Victoria by Bryant and May but now manufactured in Sweden by Swedish Match.

The matches were first produced in 1909, the name relating to the red striking heads of the matches which were the first safety matches introduced to Australia. The logo on the pack depicting the head and shoulder of a redheaded woman dates from 1946 and has had four major updates since that time with a number of special issues also produced.
