Rede Tupi

Rede Tupi was the first Brazilian Television Network. It is know as TV Tupi. It was owned by Diários Associados or Diários e Emissoras Associadas, who formed the Rede de Emissoras Associadas.
It was founded at the year of 1950 by Assis Chateaubriand in São Paulo, inicially with TV Tupi Channel 3, and before, Channel 4, since 1960, because of TV Cultura, Channel 2, also a TV Station from Associadas.

In Rio de Janeiro, TV Tupi was Channel 6.

In Brasília, TV Tupi was retransmited by TV Brasília, Channel 6.

Others TV Station was formed by Rede de Emissoras Associadas.

It was defunct in 1980. It was succeded by SBT and Rede Manchete and this last was replaced by Rede TV!.
