Red Headband

Red Headband is supposedly an evil spirit which manifests itself as a giant human, residing in the area around the crater at the summit of Mount Karthala in the Comoros archipelago in the Indian ocean.
Sometimes he is described as a huge creature, sometimes as a dwarf, but always with a red stripe or red cloth around his head. All the evidence is anecdotal. He is said to kill all that he encounters, sometimes stripping the flesh from their bones and leaving only skeletons.
Red Headband is considered by some to be superstition, by others to be a cryptid - an unconfirmed or undocumented life form like the Bigfoot in the American Northwest or the Loch Ness monster in Scotland.
Scientists have suggested that Red Headband's "victims" may have simply fallen into the crater or been overcome by toxic fumes emitted by the volcano.
