Red FM is an Irish radio station which broadcasts to Cork and the surrounding area, and is aimed at a youth audience.
Cork's RedFM commenced broadcasting at 8AM on January 16th 2002, very quickly establishing itself as part of daily life amongst young Cork people.[citation needed] Corks RedFM was awarded Ireland’s first youth radio licence. Its target market is 15-35 year olds in Cork city and county. In its first three years on air Cork's RedFM had picked up 6 prestigious PPI (Phonographic Performance Ireland) National Radio awards. In March 2003 RedFM was awarded a Guinness Radio Advertising award for its creative work. RedFM recently launched a road-safety campaign, titled "Break The Cycle", hoping to cut road-deaths in Cork City and County.

Some key Red FM personel had previously worked with "Longwave, Atlantic 252" which ceased broadcasting on Thursday December 20, 2001. Red FM's first Chief Executive, Cork native Henry Condon (A.K.A. Henry Owens) and former presenter Charlie Wolf, a Boston native, were both well known voices on Atlantic 252.
