Red Dog (2002) is a short novel by Louis de Bernières charting the life of a popular dog, Red Cloud Kelpie, in Karratha, Western Australia. Despite its short and apparently trivial nature, the book is in fact deeply moving for its portrayal of the special relationship between man and dog.
