[view] [edit] Template documentation

This template is to be used for indicating an album's or single's chart progress. It allows charting to be recorded for 25 to 48 weeks.

[edit] Usage

  • Where a release's chart life is fewer than 24 weeks, it's advised to use Template:Record charts 24 (talk, links, edit) instead of this template. Where the release charts for greater than 48 weeks, but fewer than 72, use Template:Record charts 72 (talk, links, edit). Where a release exceeds 72 weeks, it's advised that a manual chart table be created.
  • Preceeding the chart table, you should indicate the first week in which the release charted along with the source or reference of the chart.
  • In weeks where the release doesn't achieve a position on the chart, place a "dash" ("–") in the selection. This can be achieved by typing –.
  • In weeks where the release hasn't yet been allocated a position on the chart (i.e. future weeks), place a "non-breaking space" into the field. You can achieve this by typing  .
  • The field "name" refers to the release title of the album or single.
  • The field "chartorg" refers to the Charting Organisation that compiles and releases the data referred to in the chart, such as ARIA, RIAA, RIANZ etc.
  • The field "chartname" is to indicate the name of the chart, such as "Hot 40 Singles Chart" or "Adult Contemporary Chart".
