Wearing the horn-rimmed glasses, having the shaky voice, being smart and having a crush on Irma Lair is exactly what you would call a nerd. In Happy Birthday Will, Martin first expressed his crush on Irma by calling her "sweetie-lips". In Divide and Conquer, Martin temporarily broke his crush over Irma when he met the fake Swiss student, Sondra. He waited in line for the premiere of a huge movie in Return of the Tracker (cameo), and went to the field trip at the art museum in Framed. In Stop the Presses, Martin first saw a Meridian beast but would only reveal what he saw if he went on a date with Irma. In Parent's Night, it was revealed Martin thought Irma was his girlfriend. He became temporarily under Cedric's control in Walk this Way and asked for girl advice in The Stolen Heart. He was also shown to be a good basketball player in D is for Dangerous. One thing is for sure: Martin is a comic relief character.
