Recovering The Satellites is the second album by Counting Crows. The album has a slightly harder rock sound than their debut August and Everything After (1993). It was recorded after frontman Adam Duritz suffered a long period of depression due to his inability to deal with the pressures of sudden skyrocketing fame and fortune, so several of the album's songs tend to deal with these issues.[citation needed]
