Founded in the UK by music industry journalists in 2002, Record of the Day has since become the UK music industry's source of insider news and future hits with their daily news digest email and weekly magazine for subscribers, Record of the Day is also acknowledged for unearthing unheard artists and bands through their daily audio feature.

Among the successes with featured clips were Orson, an unsigned LA band featured in August 2005, who were signed by, and are now a priority for, Universal Music Publishing and Mercury Records after the feature.

The Record of the Day online message board that accompanies the magazine online has achieved cult status in the UK as a source of hot music news stories. Attracting some of the top execs and professionals in the business, who post messages anonymously under pseudonyms, the board regularly features leaks, rumours and insider tipoffs that makes it a big draw for everyone in the industry.
