A woman put the rear-view ones to the automobiles. In France, Marie-Clémentine de Rochechouart-Mortemart (1847-1933), Duchess of Uzès, the first woman of the world that obtained a license to lead in 1897, made equip with mirrors its automobiles from before 1910. Something later appears the mirrors in the United States, with occasion of the Great Prize of Indianapolis of 1911, on the automobile of mormón Wasp that gained the test. Begun the war of 1914 they appeared like accessories. From the aim of this, during years 20, they affirm like series components. Later, they were object of a precise regulation and numerous improvements. Since then it has spent almost a century.
