[edit] Schizophrenic?
Was that vandalism? Or true? If true, when did the movie say Jamie was schizophrenic?
[edit] Plot
I think the plot should be outlined in this article. I'll be adding it in if no one objects within the next 24 hrs. --Ed 19:41, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Help Please
It seems to me that I am the only one working on the cast and plot. Everyone else wants to work on the trivia. Could someone please go out of their way to help me? I need a second opinion on the plot.--Ed 17:54, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I hate how this article is written
Please fix it. This is an internet article, not a child's story book. Remove things like "All her friends heard it, because it was on live TV!" and replace it with something less...childish. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.130.138.12 (talk • contribs).
[edit] Removed the Plot Summary section
I've removed the plot summary to here. This isn't a ploit summary -- it's the entire storyline, and badly written as well. I tneeds to be summarized into 3 medium paragraphs, at most.
[edit] Plot Summary
The Journal
Read It and Weep begins with a teenage girl known as Jamie Bartlett writing in her tablet PC, a Gateway CX210/M285. Jameson Bartlett, the main character of Read It and Weep, is played by Kay Panabaker. Jamie is a very nice girl who has 3 best friends named Connor, Lindsay and Harmony. She is very good at writing and has her own journal in which she writes about the kids at school. Jamie creates an alter ego Isabella who is the opposite of her. After she accidentally emails it to Lindsay, it wins a writing contest.
A Celebrity Already???
The following day in school, Jamie acidentally turns in her journal to Ms. Gallagher (her teacher) instead of her homework. Ms. Gallagher loves what Jamie wrote, and has it published as a novel. When Jamie finds out that her journal was published as a book, she is shocked.
The next day Jamie practically becomes a celebrity in her school. By the end of the day, she has a "handler" to organize her schedule. Jamie is also invited to a party with national celebrities, but still finds it difficult to believe that she has a celebrity status in the nation.
As a result of Jamie's fame, her family's pizza parlor begins to receive huge business. Their specialty pizzas, which are really disgusting, are a big hit around the neighborhood.
Jamie begins to get so busy with book signings and interviews, that she never has any time to spend with her three friends: Harmony, Lindsay, and Connor. Although her friends initially understand that Jamie has a busy life and might not be able to spend time with them, their relationship with Jamie deterioates when she misses their rally to save bunnies.
The Date
The school dance is suddenly coming up, and Connor wants to ask Jamie if she wants to go with him. But Marco Vega, the guy in school who Jamie has a real crush on, wants to ask her out, too. So Marco goes to the pizza parlor the Bartlett's own, and asks Connor, who works there as well, where he could find Jamie. Connor lies to Marco about where Jamie is, so that Connor might have a chance to ask Jamie first.
When Jamie is in school, Marco says he wants to talk to her. Connor, knowing that Marco was going to ask her to the dance, tries to run up to Jamie before he does. But Marco gets there first. Connor than tries to pull Jamie away from her conversation with Marco. Jamie, being her ignorant self, just keeps talking to Marco and tells Connor she'll talk to him later. Connor just stands next to her, and Marco asks Jamie to the dance. Jamie accepts, and is glad that she is finally going out with Marco Vega. Connor is emotionally upset. That was his last chance to ask Jamie. Jamie was fading away from her old friends, and starting to move on to her new celebrity life.
Huge Mistake
One day, when Jamie is talking to an interviewer, she accidentally refers to Sawyer Sullivan instead of Myrna when asked about the evil witch in the book. All of her classmates heard it, since it was on live TV! Jamie goes to school in a disguise, but is discovered. Everyone in school realizes that each and every one of them is represented by a character in Jamie's book and started to get infuriated with her.
When Diana, her handler, and her parents are in their pizza parlor, nobody shows up.
School Dance
The school dance is going on that night, and Jamie regrets that she couldn't be able to hang on to her regular pre-celebrity life. Is tells Jamie that she must move on to a new life. In a little sort of "intermission", Jamie is given some flowers by Miss Gallagher, in appreciation of organizing the dance. The truth is, Jamie never helped in organizing the event. Her friends have been decorating the gym the whole time! Little does everyone know that Harmony and Lindsay stuffed seaweed in the main decoration of the whole dance: a whale! Harmony and Lindsay stuffed seafood in the whale so that they could send a message that the whales should be saved (don't forget that Jamie missed their rally for a book-signing). They plan to drop the whale on everyone in the dance, spilling seaweed all over the dance floor and on everyone's clothes. As Jamie is saying her "thank-you" speech for the flowers, she is booed by everyone on the dance floor. She spots Harmony and Lindsay about to pull the rope down, about to spill seaweed all over the dance floor. Jamie then shouts out to them to stop. They stop, and Jamie then apologizes for what she has done to them the past weeks. Jamie then gives Harmony and Lindsay the flowers.
Suddenly, Jamie begins to pull the rope down, spilling seaweed all over the floor. After all of the chaos ended, Jamie starts to look for Connor. She is told that Connor left after he couldn't find the chance to dance with Jamie. Jamie then runs outside to look for Connor. He is about to enter his car when Jamie stops him. She apolgizes, and kisses him.
Afterwards they bring evryone to the pizza parlor. Lenny acidentally puts some seaweed from his coat onto some of the pizza's and the kids love it.
