A Reaverbot is a fictional enemy in the Mega Man Legends series. Reaverbots populate the underground ruins where most of the series gameplay occurs, and are the most varied enemies in the game. The trademark appearance of a reaverbot always entails a red eye located on its body, as well as a distinctive design, marked with black grooves and segmented joints.

[edit] Description
Reaverbots can be found in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, ranging from minuscule walking bombs, to gigantic hammering machines. Reaver bots are recognizable by the characteristic red eyes, and the distinct style of segmentation. Most reaver bots are marked with some manner of black grooves, often indicating something like a skull like face, as well as panel lines on their limbs.
Many reaverbots resemble, and even vaguely act like animals of various sorts, such as dragonflies, beetles, alligators and frogs. Others, however, possess either humanoid, or totally monstrous designs, such as the Sharukurusus. Some reaverbots also disguise themselves as treasure chests, or function as hives for other reaverbots.
[edit] History
Reaverbots are mechaniloids that thrive in underground dungeons in the subterranean level of Terra (Earth). The reaverbots were constructed long before the events of the Mega Man Legends by humans to guard the underground facilities against trespassers. They possess many different ways of dispatching an enemy, usually through physical contact.
It is unknown how Reaverbots sustain themselves. Speculation leads towards the energy refractors stored in the facilities, or internal reactors. However, nothing is proven due to the fact that reaverbots are never seen recharging themselves from an energy source. Reaverbots frequently patrol areas of a set boundary when the player encounters them, and will quickly attack if detected within visible range.
[edit] Trivia
- In Mega Man Zero 2, Hyleg Ourobuckle's stage is saturated with various reaverbot eye-like crystals imbedded in the walls. This may be a clue as to how the Mega Man Zero series eventually leads to the Legends series.
- In Mega Man Legends, Mega Man finds many relics in the ruins of Kattleox island, which he donates to the museum. Among these are a doll said to have been made by a reaverbot, and the crystallized fossil of a reaverbot, both apparently suggesting that reaverbots are more than simple machines.
- Sigma, the main antagonist of the X series has a forehead symbol (a read eye-like crystal) which resembles that of a reaverbot sign.
- In Mega Man ZX, the Model W Core is covered in various spots with the red crystalline eyes of the Reaverbots, as well as a strange mouth-like (visible ONLY during cutscenes) under the "main" eye that resembles that of Reaverbot mouths. The reploid Prometheus also looks like he is wearing a reaverbot skull.
