The Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid (Spanish for the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid) is a botanical garden located in the Plaza de Murillo, next to the Prado Museum in Madrid (Spain).

It was founded by king Ferdinand VI in 1755 and finished in its current location under Charles III. Designed by architects Francesco Sabatini and Juan de Villanueva among others, the purpose of the garden was not only to exhibit plants, but also to teach botanics, promote expeditions for the discovery of new plant species and classify them.

Since 1939 the gardens have been dependent on the CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) and in 1942 it was declared Artistic Garden.

The 20 acres of the gardens are divided into three areas and two greenhouses.
