Real is the fifth studio album by American singer Belinda Carlisle, released in the United Kingdom on October 5, 1993 by Virgin Records. The first single "It's Too Real (Big Scary Animal)" reached #56 on Australia's ARIA charts and #12 in the UK. The song failed to make an impact in the US. The follow up and final single "Lay Down Your Arms" was a minor hit in the UK reaching the Top 30.

The album cover is a departure for Carlisle, who presented a glamorous look on all her previous covers, choosing a "jeans & t-shirt" look instead this time with little make-up.
