[edit] Category links
Hmm... I see what you mean. Those red links look like reasonable category names, but apparently no one has created them yet. You could either create the categories yourself or rearrange things a little. It looks like Municipal Government is an article but not a category -- you could list this in See also. The article Criminal justice is part of the Category:Criminal law -- either list in "see also" or maybe change the category link. I noticed that the Category:Lists of people by occupation is such a high-level category that it is difficult to find the article or closely related articles by following that category. You might want to consider adding a "see also" link to List of criminal justice notables since the article is already listed there. Of course, since you're in a position to know what types of articles would be appropriate, maybe you could just flesh out those red-link categories. :-) I hope I was able to answer your question. [edit] Richard J. Doscher
A discussion whose topic is
- Richard J. Doscher
appears on User talk:Jerzy/Richard J. Doscher; the following points describe the discussion:-->
- 4 msgs,14:45, 27 thru 15:28, 30 May 2005 (UTC)
- 2 participants: Jerzy·t·c·*; Rdoscherca·t·c·*.
- general topic(s): RJD's auto-bio art; "vanity"; copyvio issues
I'd still like to see someone like the webmaster of the Yuba City PD's website waiving copyvio. RickK 18:28, Jun 2, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Answer
Hi Rick. In the copyright hold disussion, you indicated that you would like to see the webmaster waive copyright on the article. I am the webmaster for the site. I took the PD site on as a project in 1995 and stayed with it ever since. Thanks Rick.Rdoscherca 19:00, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
So then even though you use this User name, you are not the sheriff? RickK 19:05, Jun 2, 2005 (UTC)
- I am the Chief of Police for this municipality. I took on the additional tasking of webmaster in '95, when I desired our agency to have a presence on the web. I enjoyed it, so I continued as the webmaster ever since. Hope this helps. Rdoscherca 23:54, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you. Does that lift the copyright hold? Rdoscherca 04:30, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I haven't read yr dialog w/ Rick, but please see my subpage (same link above). Sorry i gotta run. --Jerzy·t 03:50, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Good evening and welcome to Wikipedia. As you know, your article in the main article space was recently nominated for deletion. I just closed out the discussion. In accordance with the no autobiographies| rule and after reviewing the community comments, I made the decision to remove the article. However, I took the liberty of moving the article to your user page first. While we discourage autobiographies in the main article space, we allow much greater leniency in the user space. If I overstepped and if you do not want the article in your user space, please contact me (or any other admin) and I will reverse the edits. Thank you for your contributions and I hope that you enjoy working on the encyclopedia with us.
Since you already have a Talk page, I've moved the article's Talk page to User talk:Rdoscherca/Richard J. Doscher.
Again, welcome. Rossami (talk) 03:48, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Chief Richard J. Doscher.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Chief Richard J. Doscher.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Longhair 02:54, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Age category
Hello! If you are receiving this message, that means that your user page is in a specific year category. Per a recent user-category per deletion, all specific year categories are to be deleted. If you wish to continue using year categories, you have two options:
- Using an age group category, such as Category:Wikipedians in their 30s
- Using a decade category, such as Category:Wikipedians born in the 1970s.
If you wish, you may do both. Hopefully, this change in categorization will be quick and painless. Happy editing! --An automated message from MessedRobot 12:26, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
