From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

RCAF Detachment Edenvale was a relief (emergency) landing field for the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan's No. 1 Service Flying Traing School (SFTS) which was located at RCAF Station Borden (Camp Borden) during the Second World War. Another relief field was located at RCAF Detachment Alliston. These fields were controlled and administered by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). A sub-unit of No. 1 SFTS, an Advanced Training Unit (ATU) conducted bombing training at Edenvale. Edenvale ceased operation in February 1945. The site was operated by the Canadian Army from 1962 - 1988 as a remote radio communications station for Camp Borden.
