Razom Nas Bahato, Nas Ne Podolaty

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Razom Nas Bahato, Nas Ne Podolaty was a hip-hop song by GreenJolly, which became the unofficial anthem of the Ukrainian Orange Revolution in 2004. The literal translation of the song title is "Together we are many! We cannot be defeated!". It deliberately resembles a title of a famous Chilean song of Quilapayún used by the Unidad Popular, El pueblo unido jamás será vencido (The People United Will Never Be Defeated), written by composer Sergio Ortega. It was the Ukrainian entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kiev.

[edit] Lyrics

Chorus: Together we are many, we cannot be defeated.

Together we are many, we cannot be defeated.
Together we are many, we cannot be defeated.
Together we are many, we cannot be defeated.

To falsifications - No!
To machinations - No!
To underworld rules - No!
No to lies!
Yushchenko - Yes! Yushchenko - Yes!
This is our President.
Yes! Yes!

Chorus

We aren't beasts of burden.
We aren't goats. (Ukrainian slang for asshole)
We are Ukraine's
Sons and daughters
It's now or never
Enough of waiting
Together we are many
We cannot be defeated.

Note, interspersed with the Ukrainian Разом нас багато is a more Russified equivalent Рядом нас багато.

This anthem, not surprisingly, was used by demonstrators in Belarus, after an election that was alleged to have irregularities.
