Rays Place

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rays Place is a large website dealing with History and Genealogy for the North East part of the United States. This web site is run by Ray Brown of Bristol, Ct. There are a few pages of information for other places also as when he finds something of interest it is added to his web site

The two largest parts of the website are the New York and Maine Local histories. These each have over 400 pages to them. There are also local histories for other states but in much smaller numbers.

The local histories for New York State are fairly long and get used by a lot of people writing other histories, students for reports, Ect.

The local histories for Maine are a lot shorter than the ones for New York but offer a lot of great information. They describe the towns as they were in the 1800's, but most of that still applies. If you are going to visit Maine there will give you a good hint of excellent things to look for that may not be in the tourist maps.
