Raymond J. Bartholomeuz

Raymond J. Bartholomeuz is a comic character invented and performed by Australian comedian Brian Nankervis. Raymond is a poet who engages in rambling, strange discourses that are intended to be profound but are in fact ludicrous. He is most remembered for his appearances on Hey Hey It's Saturday in the 1990s.

Nankervis is currently appearing in RocKwiz, a rock trivia quiz show, as the referee.

This name is often mis-spelt as "Raymond J Bartholomew," and is frequently found around the internet with that spelling. His most famous piece of comedic poetry is "Days By The Ocean" which was first seen on Hey Hey It's Saturday's parody talent segment 'Red Faces.'

Intended only as comedy, 'Days By The Ocean' has since become one of Australia's best known, and most easily recognised, pieces of modern poetry.
