Raymond Gower

Sir (Herbert) Raymond Gower (15 August 1916 – 22 February 1989) was a British Conservative Party Member of Parliament for 38 years.
Gower was educated at Neath, Cardiff High School and University College, Cardiff. He was a solicitor, company director and chairman of a provincial newspaper.
Gower represented Barry from 1951 to 1983, and Vale of Glamorgan from 1983 until he died in office in 1989. He was a governor of the National Museum of Wales and National Library of Wales.
