[edit] Re: Hseldon10

Well I took a look at Second city and the big edit war over there seems to be about Manchester and Birmingham. I saw that you and this user have talked a bit on Talk:Monterrey. I agree that distinctions like this need a citation, however articles like Second city are always going to be problematic, because frankly, there's no agreed upon manner in which to decide which is the second city. I know very little about Mexico, but when I looked at the United States entry, I felt a bit confused -- Chicago is called the "second city" but then again, LA is probably a better choice. That entry mentions both, which seems like a good compromise. Since its a relatively arbitrary distinction, its hard to get too worked up about it. It seems infinitely possible that two cities could lay claim to being the second city in a country, and both could provide citations that "prove" this. It doesn't seem that this user has been uncivil to you, nor that there has been a lot of reverting. If he or she refuses to supply a citation, I suggest you look for a citation to support his or her statement -- it might suprise you. If you two can't come to an agreement, I suggest removing entirely the sentence "it is the # most important metropolitan area in Mexico" as that's a pretty arbitrary distintion and not vital to the article. Cheers. Dina 13:03, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Dina: I provided citations in the Monterrey talk page, I have now provided citations in the Second City article! It is up to Raveonpraghga to provide citations stating that Guadalajara is Second City. If he can do so, then I will happily agree to a compromise saying that both Monterrey and Guadalajara are Mexico's Second City, which the current situation seems to be more realistic. As you said, it is rather vague and subjective, but my claims are not just my own, and my citations include government, and independent, data. Hari Seldon 16:00, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] {{Sprotected2}}

I see that you added this to your userpage. I have removed it because your userpage is not semi-protected. Adding the template does not protect the page and you shouldn't transclude it on your userpage unless it is. Protection of any kind can only be done by asking an administrator to do so or by requesting it on Requests for page protection. I'm not an administrator, but I can safely tell you that your userpage doesn't need semi-protection right now as the only editor who has edited it, is you. If anyone vandalizes your userpage repeatedly, then maybe it requires protection, but not right now. Cheers! semper fiMoe 21:07, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Editing the talk page comments of others

Do not do things like this. You edited my comments to say the opposite of what I intended to say. I am changing it back to what I originally said and please, never do such a thing again, to anyone, on any talk page. Thank you. Dina 15:05, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sockpuppetry case

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Raveonpraghga for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. Alonso 07:09, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Hay Alonsa ya cayate!

The evidence is possibly the clearest I've ever seen. Since you haven't edited as User:Regiabeauty or User:68.229.63.236 for over a month, and blocks are supposed to be preventative, not punitive, I won't block you for it, but be strongly warned, that if you do it again, you may be blocked indefinitely. -- AnonEMouse (squeak) 14:16, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Monterrey and Second City

Would you please stop blanking verifiable referenced information? If you want to claim Guadalajara as Mexico's second city then provide references. Guadalajara is only Mexico's second most populated metropolitan area, but its importance was overshadowed by Monterrey decades ago. AlexCovarrubias ( Let's talk! ) 01:46, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Be civil! Read talk pages, take into account arguments, act in good faith, reach for a consensus! Stop vandalizing pages with your own personal (unsourced) opinion, and please, do as Dina says and stop editing talk pages of others. Hari Seldon 17:11, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
