[edit] Page Dividers

Large page dividers/headers require 2 equal signs before and after the section title.

[edit] subheader title

Subheaders require 3 equal signs before and after the sub-section title. You can put more equal signs to get more sub-sections. A table of contents for the page will be automatically generated if you have a minimum of 4 header sections. If you have fewer than 4 you will simply not have a table of contents. Large headers (2 equal signs) will automatically generate a separate "edit" section. This is important if you want many people to be able to edit different sections of a page simultaneously.

This isn't so hard. I'll just need to learn the symbols.

[edit] Indenting

[edit] To indent with bullets

Put an asterisk before each item. To indent more, put two asterisks, or three asterisks etc. Example:

  • Types of cars
    • Chrysler
      • Dodge

[edit] To indent with numbers

Put a pound sign (#) before each item instead of an asterisk. Numbers will be assigned automatically. Example:

  • Types of cars:
  1. sedan
  2. station wagon
  3. mini-van

[edit] Linking to another page

Double square brackets around a name or term, will link that name/term to a page that of that name/term. If the article/page does not exist, the name/term will show up red. If the article/page does exist, the name/term will show up red. Example: Biology or Thomas Jefferson
