Rasipuram is a panchayat town in Namakkal district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a town 27 km (16.5 miles) from Salem, in Namakkal district, has a population of around 50 thousand. The town is approximately 380km southwest of Chennai, 235km south of Bangalore and 110 km northwest of Tiruchirapalli (Trichy).

Rasipuram is a historic town dating back to at least the 1st century. Rasipuram got its name from Raajapuram which literally means King's town. Rasipuram is famous for its mouth watering ghee, Handloom silk sarees and future deciding education. It is also famous for its Lord Shiva temple constructed by King Valvil Ori. It is believed that the temple possesses a secret path to the 'Arabaleeswarar temple' (Lord Shiva temple) at top of Kolli hills , which is famous for medicinal herbal plants and natural honey. The Shiva temple is said to be built by Valvil Ori in 1st or 2nd century when he ruled this area.

Rasipuram has moderate climate but is hot often. The temperature ranges from 20 to 44 degrees celsius throughout the year.

The main tourist and picnic spot of the Rasipuram is the Parumpalli falls in the village of Vadugam, which hosts a wounderful sight of water falling from the height of about 100 feet at three different stages, which is located just 8 km from Rasipuram and is very nice to visit during rainy season. Also variety of temples are situated around the town. Mariamman is a Hindu goddess, an incarnation of Shakti. It boasts of having the Nithyasumangali amman which is a rare one and is found only here in the state. Every year around October / November the town celebrates Mariamman festival for a fortnight. During this festival, Goddess Mariamman is decorated with jewellery and flower chariots and taken around the city at midnight. This festival will be celebrated for a week. The state's second largest Nandhi is found in Lord Shiva temple.
Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Goddess Angalaparameswari temples are some of the notable temples in the town.
Kolli hills is located approximately 35km from Rasipuram, which is a notable place to relax. It has a waterfall, which is believed to be medicated. It is famous for rare species of herbs. People believe that a category of saints, called Sidharkal (in tamil) are living and meditating in the forest.

Rasipuram is one of the important and notable town in the field of education. It boasts of having the state-wide famous institution SRV schools which generates state toppers every year. Government Schools too produce good result every year.
The town also has several other educational institutions located in it. Muthayammal Group of Institutions has Engineering college, Arts & Science college and Polytechnic within 5 km from town. There are many more educational institutions in and around Rasipuram which offer better education for people from villages around Rasipuram. Rasipuram has 90 year old Government higher secondary school and Dr.Hanemann Homeopathy medical college.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Rasipuram had a population of 46,370. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Rasipuram has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 66%. In Rasipuram, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
