Rashean Jamil Mathis (born August 27, 1980 in Nashville, Georgia) is an American football cornerback currently playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL. He had 81 tackles as a rookie playing safety, but converted to cornerback for the 2004 season. In 2005 he started his third season. He has played his entire career in Jacksonville.

Mathis attended high school in Jacksonville at local Englewood High School.

He played college football at Bethune-Cookman College. He was unable to receive any scholarships from larger schools because he broke his leg during high school.

Mathis was selected to his first NFL Pro Bowl in 2006 after finishing third in the league with 8 interceptions, starting alongside Champ Bailey. He along with John Henderson were the only Jaguars on the team.
