Rashad Haughton

Rashad Haughton (August 6, 1977 in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York) is the brother of R&B/Pop singer, Aaliyah who died in a plane crash on August 25, 2001, a little over 2 weeks after Rashad's 24th Birthday.

Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 — August 25, 2001), known professionally as Aaliyah, was an American R&B singer, dancer, model, and actress. Introduced to audiences by R&B singer R. Kelly, Aaliyah became famous during the mid-1990s with several hit records from the songwriting/production team of Missy Elliott and Timbaland, and their associate Steve "Static" Garrett.

In 1996 he recorded a song with his sister titled "Death of a Playa". The song was released as the B-side on Aaliyah's single "4 Page Letter".
[edit] Queen of the Damned (2002)
In early 2002 Queen of the Damned, a film which Aaliyah co-starred was released. Before its release, Rashad was called upon to re-dub several of his sister's lines during the post-production ADR process. Upon its release, the film debuted at number one. It was also dedicated to Aaliyah.

Rashad appeared at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards to pay tribute to his sister along with Aaliyah's role model Janet Jackson and her producers/songwriters/collaborators Ginuwine, Missy Elliott, and Timbaland. The awards were presented just 11 days after her passing.
The Haughton family still maintains Aaliyah's official website www.aaliyah.com. Recently, the Haughtons have begun selling offical Aaliayh merchandise (clothing, accesories) as well as Aaliyah's albums, singles, and DVDs through her website with Amazon.com and Itunes
Rashad is currently 29 years old and will turn 30 in early August 2007.
