Rangzen Shonu

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rangzen Shonu is a Sino-Tibetan rock and roll band. Its correctly translated name is "rang btsan gzhon nu," meaning Freedom Youth. Teresa Teng reportedly integrated some of Rangzen Shonu's signature style after hearing a smuggled cassette in 1988.[1] The Tibetan word Rangzen in recent years has come to mean "Independence", a reference to the continued Chinese occupation of Tibet.
