Rand Fishkin (born July 10, 1979) is a marketing consultant and owns SEOmoz, a Seattle based search engine optimization and Internet marketing firm. SEOmoz also operates a popular blog.[1]

Fishkin is frequent speaker at the Search Engine Strategies conferences put on by Danny Sullivan, and is also a PubCon speaker.[2][3] He was profiled by Newsweek magazine.[4]

On, February 6th, 2007 he proposed to his girlfriend Geraldine DeRuiter via an advertisement that aired during Veronica Mars, her favorite TV show.[5] He had gained anonymous noteriety before as "JP", owner of the mysuperproposal.com website in which he planned to propose via a national advertisement during Super Bowl XLI.[6] When this plan fell through, he decided on the backup plan to air the ad on a local station during Veronica Mars.
