Rancid is an 7" EP and the self-titled debut release of the punk band Rancid, released in 1992. It was released by Lookout! Records, home of Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman's prior band, Operation Ivy. This is a very powerful recording of the band in their earliest days as a three-piece. Only released on seven inch vinyl, these songs have never been rerecorded on future albums. As of September, 2006 this record is out of print [1]

A common bootleg recording from these sessions exists named Demos From The Pit. It contains nearly twenty more songs, half of which are unreleased, the others are different versions of songs from their debut full-length album, Rancid. Many feature completely different lyrics, and music.
