Ramnefjellsfossen

Ramnefjellsfossen (also, known as Utigardsfossen or Utigordsfossen) is listed as the third highest waterfall in the world in several publications, including The Top Ten of Everything, edited by Russell Ash [ISBN 186 4661267, Dorling Kindersley Publishers, UK], as well as several websites [The World Waterfall Database, which includes all minor and seasonal waterfalls, lists it as eleventh-tallest]. The total drop is 818 m (2,685 feet) from five free-leaping cascades. Due to the small flow of water it is one of the few major waterfalls in Norway that has not been slated for hydroelectric usage.
The falls, which are located in the county of Sogn og Fjordane at the township of Stryn, Nesdalen in Norway, are fed by the Jostedal Glacier. They are easily reached by boat, sea plane or road. A campsite is located within hiking distance of the base of the falls.
The nearby mountain, Ramnefjellet, in the past hundred years has killed over 100 people as a result of landslides in 1905 and 1936.
