Tom Dowd produced 1972's self-titled debut from Rama-tam, featuring co-author and guitar player of The Blues Image hit "Ride Captain Ride" Mike Pinera (later of Iron Butterfly) on guitar and vocals, Mitch Mitchell (late of The Jimi Hendrix Experience) on drums and April Lawton on lead guitar.

After some changes in membership, the band released its second and final album "In April Came the Dawning of the Red Suns" in 1973.
