Ramarajan was once a very well known actor in Tamil who specialized in making village-based subjects.

At the peak of his career he decided to produce a film or two ,they flopped. Then he became an MP (AIDMK) of Lok Sabha in 1998 .He was elected from Tiruchendur which was known as Ex-minister Danushkoodi Adithan Fort, Ramarajan defeated him and entered into the Lok Sabha.
