In the early 90's, RAMIRA was still owned by the Romanian government. As of 2000, the company had less than 100 employees, compared to more than 2000 in 1990 and it accumulated huge debts. In 2000, RAMIRA was acquired by a private local company (Izoterom). The new owner started a comprehensive investment program and turned to profit in 2006. In 2007 it had almost 400 employees.
