Talk:Raleigh International Hong Kong

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

hi there!!! I couldn't find much information from the web other than the offical website. Would it be a bit improper if we just paraphase all the information there and post it here??? And by the way.. I didn't know whether our images violate the copyright. Any idea???0101emilie06 10:02, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

I find the same, and there is something I don't know if is alright. I feel that some wordings are a little "too" positive. I hope nobody minds as I have already been changing them into some neutral ones...

I guess we could use the time left to search for some indirectly related website to Raleigh International Hong Kong. Just guess, I don't know if anybody likes it or is against it.0101kk06 10:52, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category

another problem, in which category should we put the article? should we simply put it in the Charity category????? Or is there any more suitable option? 0101kk06 10:55, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

yes i'm also not sure which category that our article belongs to, what should we do then? After attending the workshop today, it seems that we got lots of things to improve but where should we start?? Does anyone have ideas about that? 0101cherrylui06 08:30, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

what category should we put in? maybe first make it more neutral, I guess. I am not sure if that's a good idea. I think we can first change some wordings and make it look more like encyclopedia rather than official website. 0101kk06 11:11, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

any others have any opinion on the page?0101kk06 11:12, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

I find that I do not really understand how to categorize the page even after reading the link on categorization. Anybody understand how to do it? Or did I read the wrong area?0101kk06 14:13, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Do you mean we need to categorize this page(RIHK)?? Is it a must?0101emilie06 17:46, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

I think u didn't read anything wrong, i think we need to categorize our page because there's a little box on the bottom of our page asking us to do that. I have checked that link (about the categorization) as well but i don't have any idea on how to choose it. What should we do then? Does anyone know? 0101cherrylui06 18:21, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

I have categorized it under Category:Charities based in Hong Kong. Feel free to change it if that's not correct; you can find categories sorted by topic at Wikipedia:Categorical index. --Geniac 19:35, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

thank you very much for putting it into a category. thanks a lot !0101kk06 00:25, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

I think this category is quite suitiable, thank you very much. 0101cherrylui06 01:28, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

By the way, I've tried to check the database / E-resources of the HKU library for more information but I still couldn't find any. Does anyone have any ideas of what information we can add to our page? 0101cherrylui06 01:38, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

As what Hannah mentioned in the email, what we should do now is to cut unneccesary materials and try to make the whole page look more interesting. She suggested us not to add any more information. Quality is more important than quantity. Maybe we can slim down the passages a bit and add more pictures of each events. 0101emilie06 09:42, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

I agree with you, sliming down the page0101kk06 11:51, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Slim down the passage is good, but I'm not sure whether we should add more pictures to the page or not because of the copyright problem. I have called "Raleign" today and the staff did not know whether we can use the pictures. She told me that she will call me back later, so now I think we'd better not to add more pictures before having any replies from them. What do you guys think? Anyway I'll leave message here as soon as I get their call. 0101cherrylui06 12:04, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Any pictures with no copyright problem can be added? Because our passage seems to be a bit dull when compared to other groups with loads of pictures.0101emilie06 19:38, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Actually quite a lot of pictures can be found in Google relating to Raleigh International, but do these pictures violate copyright as well??? And I am not quite familiar how to add picture on Wikipedia. 0101emilie06 19:41, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

I see that "Criticisms" is added to the page. I think we need to quote or make reference from what we quote/paraphrase in the criticism. Otherwise, it's not fair and credible to write the it here.0101lorettaho06

I'm not sure about copyright thing as well, so that's why I don't know we should add more pictures to the page as well. 0101cherrylui06 01:45, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I agree with "lorettaho" that i think we need to cite the source for the "criticism". Hi Emilie, are u the one who added the "criticism" part? If yes, do you mind citing the source to our page? Thank you very much ;) 0101cherrylui06 01:45, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

By the way, I still haven't received any call from "Raleigh". Maybe I'll call them again today. 0101cherrylui06 01:47, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Ohohoh, that's really good to also put the criticism, you are so smart!0101kk06 02:11, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

I actually add criticisms using reference which already exists.. the link about Prince William went to Chile. Thanks Cherry for calling Raleigh, hope we can get an answer before the deadline.0101emilie06 04:00, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

I think the length is pretty good right now. If we keep on deleting, the content would be a bit shallow. Maybe it's now for us to do some final editing jobs like checking minor spelling or grammar mistakes.0101emilie06 08:10, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey, mates! Any press release or newspaper article related to Raleigh International can be found?0101emilie06 09:07, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry groupmates, I still haven't received any call from Raleigh and I did try to call them again but it put me through to the voice mail. I'm sorry about that. 0101cherrylui06 10:21, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
