[edit] The Parachute Regiment
Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed that you moved The Parachute Regiment to The Parachute Regiment (British Army) and created a disambiguation page. You may not be aware of guidelines at WP:MILHIST that suggest a different paranthetical disambiguator. As you can see here, the guideline suggest using only the name of the country of service (in this case, United Kingdom) rather than the particular branch of the armed forces. The particular branch in generally only used if there are multiple similarly named units within the armed forces of a single country. Rather than procede without explaining myself, I propose moving the article to The Parachute Regiment (United Kingdom). Also, the article for the unit of the Indian army should probably exist at The Parachute Regiment (India), rather than at The Parachute Regiment (Indian Army). As you can see, the country disambiguator is currently a redirect, rather than the actual location of the article. I also raised this question on the MILHIST talk page, you can leave a comment there if you'd like, or you can reply on my talk page. Carom 01:11, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:CommandoPatch.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:CommandoPatch.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:06, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Bihar Regiment
A tag has been placed on The Bihar Regiment, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an very article only am infobox to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to provide more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately, and also put a note on Talk:The Bihar Regiment. An administrator should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 1 under Articles. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and then immediately add such material. Natl1 16:44, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Purdue.JPG
This image that you uploaded is essentially a near replica of Image:PurdueSpiritMark.jpg. As such, it is an unlicenses derivative work. Purdue University retains rights. I have re-tagged the image as {{logo}}, removed it from the userbox it was used on, and tagged the image as being orphaned; meaning, it's not used in any main namespace articles. Copyrighted images must be used on main namespace articles only, and they must actually be used. If not, they are subject to deletion. If you have any questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. Thanks, --Durin 00:20, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please do not upload images in the GIF format
Hello and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you've uploaded a number of images in the GIF format. In the future, please save GIF images in the PNG format before converting (see Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload). PNG images almost always have a smaller file size, which decreases the amount of time they take to load. There are a bunch of other advantages to the PNG format such as lossless compression that you can read about on its Wikipedia article. ---Remember the dot 03:23, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:MadrasReg.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:MadrasReg.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
