The Rajput Class destroyers build for the Indian Navy are the modified version of Soviet Kashin class destroyers. Rajput class destroyers are the first ships in the Indian Navy to be fitted with BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile. The missiles will be fitted during the mid-life refit of the ships. 8 missiles with bow mounted launchers[1] and 8 vertically launched BrahMos missile will be fitted in the aft section of the ship.

  • Machinery: Four 72,000 hp gas turbine engines and two shafts

  • Range: 4000 miles at 18 knots, 2600 miles at 30 knots
  • Armament: Brahmos Supersonic cruise Missile as AShM
  • Complement: 320 (35 Officers)
