Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences

The Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) is in Ranchi, the Capital of Jharkhand State of India.
Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences was originally called Rajendra Medical College after Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. Students for M.B.B.S. course were admitted in the first batch in 1960.
Dr N.L. Mitra was the first principal of the college. He was also Professor and Head of the Dept. of Anatomy. Lt Col ( Dr) Alok Kumar Dubey was the first Director of the Institute after it came in to its new avtar from Rajendra Medical College .
