Rajaguru

Historically in India a Rajaguru or Raja Guru was a teacher for a king. In ancient times, Kings used wise and learned men as their advisors in all issues. And the 'Rajaguru' was the most important advisor in his court.

Shivaram Rajguru

Hari Shivaram Rajguru (1908 - March 23, 1931) was an Indian revolutionary.He was born in a Deshastha Brahmin family. He is best known as an accomplice of Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev in the killing of a British police officer in 1928 in order to take revenge for the death of veteran leader Lala Lajpat Rai due to excessive police beating. All three were convicted of the crime and hanged on March 23, 1931. Rajguru was hiding in Nagpur. He met Dr. K. B. Hedgewar and was hiding in one of the RSS worker's house. But after some days he went to Pune and later was arrested there.


In South India, Vandavasi - Elangadu Nallan Charakravarthy Rajagurus were very famous. They were anti-british and british raj has taken over their properties.
