Raimondo Albarelli

Raimondo Battista Albarelli, I was born as Raymond James Miller II on September 11, 1964 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I was named after my father, who was the son of Bernard Moeller and Pasqualena Albarelli. My grandfather had changed his name to Miller and there came a time, after some research, that I decided to take on my Grandmother's surname.

We lived in Milwaukee until I was seven years old and I attended Grant Elementery School. In 1972, we moved to Palmyra Wisconsin where we lived until 1979 and moved to Greenfield Wisconsin and I finished at Whitnall High School. My father was an avid reader who encouraged me to read. He would always say that "the key to doing all things is in reading" and if I learned to do anything well, I should focus on my reading skills. So I did!

[edit] Life in Texas

In 1983 I moved to Sherman Texas where I lived for two years and worked at the Plitt Plaza Cinema 4 as a movie projectionist and later as the assistant manager. I worked twelve hours a day six days a week with little time for a social life, which eventually led to my burn out and desire to move back to Wisconsin and my family. My main recreation during this time was playing Atari 5200, Colecovision, and tinkering with my Timex Sinclair 1000. I spent one whole weekend programing that bad boy to run Space Invaders and then my roomates unplugged it and I lost all my work (I had failed to buy the optional tape backup).

When I moved back to Wisconsin I worked for Raab Mechanical doing Heating and Air, but after a few motor vehicle incidents, I found myself looking for new work. I tried heating and air conditioning again later when I worked for Reynolds but my heart was never really into it.

My Dad encourages me to go to school and take up something in the medical field. His advice was to start as a Certified Nursing Assistant and work my way thru school to become an LPN or RN. So I took the CNA course at WCTC and began a life long love for learning and taking classes, but not a long term interest in medicine. I got a great job at Waukesha County's Northview home on one of the locked units working with all forms of dementia. Northview was sold to Lindengrove during a time of privatization and I lost my great county benefits and pay. I was offered a job at the dairy Hawthorn Melody in Whitewater and I took it. I was a floater, that worked where ever I was needed. Some nights I would be working in the cheese room, others I would be bagging milk, pulling milk stacks in the cooler, loading trucks, or working in the blow mold room making milk bottles. Hawthorn Melody was an aging facility that was doomed to close and was torn down to make way for apartments.

[edit] The Constuction Years & Real Estate Years

In 1988 I began working for LH Krueger & Son as a roofer. After 3 years of working new construction with Krueger, I started working for Scott Davis Enterprises, a company that does mostly re-roofs. For both companies, I became proficient in applying EPDM, asphalt shingles, and cedar shakes.

During the Summer of 1991 I took classes at the Wisconsin School of Real Estate and passed the State and Federal exams to sell real estate as an agent. I got a job working part-time selling real estate for Neitzel Realty in Watertown and stay with Deane Neitzel until he retired in 2001. I worked for a while with DeBoer Realty but ultimately let my license expire.

Now a Master Roofer, I decided it was time to start my own business. So in May of 1994 I started Infinity Roofing. Business was great and finding work was easy, but finding and keeping employees was difficult. Infinity Roofing lasted three years.

The end of the ninety's saw my focus return to computers. I got a job at Sussek Machine where they have a great training program. I was encouraged by a neighbor to work for a "job shop", Pump Drives. Work was intermittent and I would often be sent home so I started work at G&V Machine. I worked two years in CNC and enjoyed it a lot. I regret leaving Sussek.

In July of 1999 I took some proficiency exams at Sitel and got a job on "Minnow", a code name for the AT&T WorldNet contract. I provided technical support for all issues relating to the use of the WorldNet service. After the of Minnow, I worked on the Palm contract as a tier two tech support rep and later as the manager of the tier two team. During restructuring at Palm I was displaced from my job at SITEL.

As a side note, I would like to mention that I loved the technical aspects of my work at SITEL and it was here that I was introduced to Linux. My brother also worked at SITEL, and him and I both took Linux Fundamentals I and II at WCTC in Waukesha. The course was taught by Todd Beidel and it really improved my proficiency with Linux.

Since my displacement at SITEL, I have worked at US Cellular providing customer support and Sprint Nextel as a Wireless Consultant.

[edit] Present Day

I currently work at Standard Process in Palmyra where we making vitamins and supplements. I have successfully passed the FCC test and now hold a technician class amateur radio license. I have passed Firefighter I at WCTC and served two and a half years on the Palmyra Fire Dept.
