Railway Children (charity)

The Railway Children is a charity based in Cheshire, England that aims to help runaway children and street children throughout the World, particularly those who live around railway stations.

Founded in 1995 by David Maidment, former Controller of Safety Policy at Railtrack. The charity takes its name from the Edith Nesbit book The Railway Children. It has been adopted as the charity of the British railway industry and railway enthusiasts.
